Pippa comes up with a crafty idea

Pippa Hirst has come up with a crafty idea for a new Norfolk business. Pippa‟s Pottery is a mobile paint-it-yourself pottery venture, travelling in and around Norwich.

It’s fun, it’s easy and it’s a great way to have a party or create a one-of-a-kind gift. “I will provide everything people need and bring it all to their home, school or premises. Once they’ve finished I take it away, fire it in my kiln and then bring back to them. It is a wonderful experience that is available to all, regardless of people‟s age or background,” she said. Pippa, who is 38 and lives at Chapel Break, Norwich, has been working for 20 years as an accounts assistant on and off, but wanted to share her love of pottery with others, around her full-time job.

She turned to WEETU for advice and has been on “Is Enterprise for Me?‟ and received excellent advice which gave her the knowledge and confidence to move forward. “WEETU has been so helpful and I used my Business Link voucher with Jeanette Flemons to assist me with marketing. Jeanette helped me focus on the things that were important and was a really good sounding block for my ideas, as well as giving me some of hers,” she said. “Pippa‟s Pottery came about because I have been painting pottery for years and I absolutely love it. I therefore made the decision to start my own mobile pottery business and share this rewarding experience with others. The business allows me to bring my passion and experience of painting pottery to clients – providing them with everything they need to create their own masterpiece.”
